Today was the 'Debut of The New KL Plaza'.
This means Pavilion:
- Bought over KL Plaza ( a really old shopping mall that almost bankrupt but was sold to Pavilion)
- Rebuilt the building structure
- Renamed KL Plaza
- is in havoc! (quite a bit of last minute rush, but we managed in the end anyway)
- is overworking their
internsstaff! haha, kidding. Everyone worked as hard.
So here goes...the seed of everyone at Pavilion Sdn Bhd 's hard work,to pre-launch Fahrenheit 88!
I am always on standby, in case my PR Manager or fellow colleagues says "Michelle, go up to the office and print 50 fact sheets. " or "I need 50 event sheets".
Yeap, that's my job. Can run faster already after wearing my Hush Puppies. HAHA.At least got reason to stay and see the event :p.
I do learnt loads of stuffs too, apart from giving out circulars, counting thousands of contest forms and photocopying stuffs...because I am included in every single meeting! *proud face*
Get to see the freebies they pack in media kit, get to roughly estimate how many 'Media' stickers or ' Retailer' stickers and 'Reserved- VIP' stickers to stick on the chairs (VIPs are in accordance to those who are attending, 4 x 8chairs Media, the rest are retailers)
The whole place is reserved strictly for VIPs, people wearing the Pavilion tag, medias, and invited retailers.
All the medias and retailers gathering after taking their goodie bag (media- 1 tshirt + fact sheet+diary, retailers- 1 tshirt+event sheet)
After all the speeches, all 3 VIPs ( the woman on the right is my CEO!)
Okay, I am going to briefly talk about Fahrenheit 88 from what I understand.
It is going to be the next Sungai Wang! Affordable, with 1 floor dedicated to Japanese and Korean Fashion ! 1 floor digital and computer stuff...You can also eat all the cheap hawker yummy food from Jalan Imbi without walking one big round as Fahrenheit is building a connecting bridge to attract patrons from that side, too! Brilliant!
Actually when I first read about it, I thought of The Gardens and Midvalley. The Gardens being targeted at the higher income class, whereas Midvalley are for the middle income crowd.
Same goes to Pavilion (higher income class) , and Fahrenheit 88 (middle income people).
I remembered the VIP who restructured this building said something about the structure of the building, being only 1 circle per floor , easier for people to access shops that they want to go without getting lost on the same floor (meaning, the worst case scenario is that you'll just end up walking in circles if you stay on the exact floor).
Some parts of the building will also be using natural light during the day(environmental friendly!), and also the main entrance from 50metres of the old KL Plaza, it got increased to 90metres in Fahrenheit 88.
This means bigger view of the whole mall when you enter the mall from the main entrance!
Best of all is that its opposite Pavilion only:
So if you are broke after spending RM30k on a Rolex watch, just head over to Fahrenheit 88 and feel better with yourself, knowing that you still can still afford loads of stuffs from Fahrenheit 88 (strongly emphasizing that things there are way cheaper than in Pavilion!).
After the launching, comes the Press Conference at TGIF :
sheesh , I am like promoting Pavilion only instead of sharing my day as an intern.
Then FREE leftover FOOD!!
See people surrounding those goodies during work time at 4+pm! hehe. My office very fun one. No one is shy at all. Work can come anytime, as long as you finish what you are suppose to do/assigned for the day.
Tore my skirt on this fateful day, and had to use my 20minute lunch time to buy a dress. OF ALL DAYS! But nevermind, in the end I saved money on lunch, and can pig on free food!
Yeah, bout the suing TGIF part ...!!!!
Half way while eating TGIF's MACARONI AND CHEESE (free from the Press Conference at TGIF)
Can sue or not ? Easy money !!! and before that plastic kills my system. After that bite off the Macaroni and Cheese, got a wierd after taste lor!
I learn from legal studies, people found snail in their beer, can sue. Plastic fried together with food leh ?!!!
Oh yeah, Pavilion aim to open Fahrenheit88 in 8 August 2010.
Stay tuned!

yer i wanna work in pav forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey are you sure its going to be branded as the next Sungai Wang? I heard H&M is coming in and so is UNIQLO, Victoria Secret? Or am i being delusional?
Hello,
well, I was merely comparing per se. Fahrenheit 88, like Sungai Wang, targets the younger people (teens to pre-adults).
I am not sure if those brands are coming in but my manager did say that there will be some high end shops in Fahrenheit88...perhaps to cater to the 'higher maintenance' teens?
But I know there are certain floors that's solely for japan/korean fashion + digital corner. If u know what I mean. Similarly like Sunway Pyramid top floor and Sungai Wang's.
But is it bad to call it the next Sg. Wang? The traffic in Sg. Wang is still quite 'heavy', regardless of whatever they sell.
The fact is, they are still quite 'the mall where everyone goes for cheap and good/ in-fashion stuffs' for some time now.
It's not bad to call it the next Sungai Wang. I just had high hopes for the next new shopping mall in KL. But it's good too that it is going to cater to the teens etc... Can't wait!
