Day07: My very first minutes writing..!

Going to go briefly and fast.

First thing I did when I reached the office was count the contest forms again. Finish counting 3.6k contest forms manually at almost 12pm. Pretty fast I counted compared to someone in the office grr..

Then check my emails and all, got really touching replies from my unit chair and experiential learning officer..as I told them I am seriously lacking time to even sleep. Maximum sleep I get per day is 6hours, minimum is about 4hours. I usually try sleeping latest by 1am, and have to get up by 7am. Sometimes I sleep around 2am, when I got more stuff than expected, to read up online and understand.

Apart from that, my results got corrected and I finally can enroll into my internship! So I got all the needed forms from my university to Pavilion, and spent the whole time sending it to people in Pavilion who needed those documents.

Waited for my colleague to finish her meeting and we went lunch together at 1pm , eating in Carl's JR. She told me the head of department wants everyone to wear cheongsam next Monday for our CNY event at Pavilion for girls, and the guys wear guy version of cheongsam. Whats it called already ???? And apparently, I am being sent to stand at the entrance by my head of department cause of *ahem* ask me if you want to know . But because my colleague might take leave on that day itself, I might lose my chance in the spotlight. NOOOO!

Bump into my dad and the chairman of Pavilion in Pavilion. Was told my brother is in Pavilion also. 3/4 of my family is in Pavilion, except my mom. Dad introduced me to ALLLLL his friends...

Right after lunch, immediately got meeting at 2pm. Venue changed last minute from Yo!Sushi to Dome. I was late. Was very nervous during the meeting. Met up with a lot of big shots. Editor and managers of Female and SEVENTEEN magazine, a famous local designer (I saw him on TV before)...all of them were giving me their name cards and I just have to blurt out "I am just a PR intern"..TIMIDLY (I am always all nervous when I meet VIPs) . My manager doesn't seem to be happy with my answer though. I guess it was more cause I didn't really introduce myself properly. I always feel very inferior, hence the lack of confidence to talk. I mumbled my way through.

I wanted to clarify my position so that when it's time to brainstorm and share ideas, they won't expect much from me, which MIGHT save Pavilion from embarrassment for having a mute 'employee'. Its sometimes not because I am lacking creativity to voice out opinions, I just feel like I don't have the right to share my ideas. I am not even as experienced as them in the field =/. But my mind was indeed blank through out the whole meeting anyways. All of them kept shooting ideas out. Very exciting and no time for silence. All very knowledgeable and quick people. I like! Was there absorbing information like a dry sponge.

Discussed about event plans for Pavilion in the final quarter of the year. Need to discuss now as there's going to be A LOT of celebrities involved ! As celebrities schedules are tight, have to confirm the plans and book a spot in their schedules ASAP. How I wish I am still working for Pavilion till then...!

Oh well, at least some of them are pretty nice, they told me its alright that I am just an intern :) Thanks. Those words really made me feel so much better and comfortable.

Oh yah, they also asked my PR Manager , why name the new mall Fahrenheit 88?

Her answer was due Feng Shui , i.e. auspicious number 88, and also the Malaysian temperature is generally about 88 degrees Fahrenheit.

She also mentioned that when Fahrenheit 88 is done....It will be like Pavilion is targeted at parents, and Fahrenheit 88 for the children.

I find it important to mention it here, because during the Press Conference, no reporters asked questions like this, or more like no one can really hear. So in the end, not many reporters asked any questions. So in case reporters are researching for information, they might find some source here (must reference me ah ! haha).

In the end, after meeting, I was told to write minutes of the meeting! Omgosh. Lucky I wrote down loads of notes, and got a few name cards, and asked for the names of other people from my another colleague who was at the meeting.

Thats why need to sleep early, never know what work might be asked from you so your brain have to be attentive 247, especially during meetings.

After meeting, after writing minutes, I continued giving out circulars , and finished up my floors. 2 small floors left to go!

There will be another WIP meeting tomorrow at 10.30am with RAPR. Need to sleep. almost 1am.

Goodnight.
