I am exhausted. But I have to write this regardless of anything, so long as my eyes are still open.
I need to write journal entries for my internship as it is a core unit/subject for my Public Relations degree , without this, I cannot graduate. Also would want to remember this. I never felt so enthusiastic over a job for so long (the last one was Juice Works, believe it or not).
Today morning, after arriving too early (carpooled with my dad) until the mall itself haven open (8.40am), I got lost..walked in dark carparks and attempted to take the loading lift which was quite spooky as it was dark and dirty. Ended up not daring to use that lift, I walk back to another lift, that suddenly have the floor that I need to go (Floor 10). Walk up to the 10th floor, the lift opens, and I see myself staring at the sky !!! and boy that roof top was smelly. Run down to 9th floor, and up again to 10th floor, and back down to 9th floor, and finally found the entrance to inside the office, and used the internal lift to 10th floor.
Met up with my HR manager , soaked in sweat but at least I was punctual.
First thing in the morning , attended a meeting. They say its a short 15minutes meeting, but I left the meeting room 2 hours later.
Discussed about the upcoming designs of the Pavilion mall with the Chinese New Year theme, from the outside main entrance, to the stage...to performances , to the pattern of the angpaos and how much discount to give patrons during CNY+Valentines+Anniversary. Also touched a bit on the current regulations, that might change after February 28th.
We even get to see the visual of the stage done in 3D, a few sample angpaos and we get to choose which one is the nicest design to mass produce it ... I was actually really excited and was imagining myself working there for life already! Love the nature of this job. Very interesting indeed and ZERO MATHS.
Even asked us all for opinions on some stuffs, and ideas also to improve or to change the current proposed theme. It just made us all feel very included into the whole project, working properly as a team.
The office also didn't work on punch cards, nor check what time you start working in the morning nor what time you leave , be it late or early. They tell me it's based on honesty, and work ethics. If you are responsible, you should know better what to do and what not. They even actually discourage us from staying till late if it makes us tired and unable to go work early the next day. All I can say that, they are very very very modern in managing Pavilion. Everyone felt equal, or at least I feel so, even though I am of the lowest rank in the office.
Then the whole day I got phone calls from my mother , boyfriend and quite a few smses in which I was too occupied to reply. Whole wide world was more anxious/nervous than myself for my internship??? It's not my first time working in an office lah. Everything was smooth sailing.
Apart from all these, my job was pretty fun. Get to read newspaper in the morning, and all the latest magazine...just to abstract whatever article that has the word 'Pavilion' in them. But of course, also had to do some research such as googling for old folks home, finding out their address, profiles, contact number, and amount of old folks that are under their care. It sound easy, but it's actually damn hard. Try googling old folks home in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur area. Most of them don't even have their own website. I had to call 10 numbers, and only 4 answered my calls.
At least the office consist of a noticeable amount of guys. The last office I worked at, out of 100, 90 are really old tired looking female workers. My current colleagues are all around my age actually. Some are slightly older, but at least we all can click! ;)!
Then going back, had to walk from Pavilion to Time Square in HIGH HEELS!!!!!!!!!! Both my feet now have blisters , SIX in total. 4 normal size but jam packed with the watery liquid , and 2 really huge but flattened ones.
So pain loh. My feet cramped also.
Hehe, got a pressie :

yeah, internship with Pavilion doesn't feel like a burden. The only drawback is the need to wake up early~
