I know that the video call technology has been there since long time ago. Apple's Facetime is just an improvisation of video calls and Skype combine together - and its the best combo of both skype and video calls have to offer.
Facetime is video calls over wifi - saves a lot of money, as all you have to do is call with your house's internet. And so far, it is very stable, PLUS super easy to use. All you have to do is get an iPod touch 4G or an iPhone 4, register your email and go to a place with wifi (almost everyone's home has wifi now). ABC123.
My brother set up the Facetime for the iPod Touch 4G I bought for my parents, using the money I've earned from working!! Proud of it.
So yesterday I Facetime-d with my mother :
She didn't look so good, as she just had an allergy reaction that causes spots on her face. I don't mind showing her face, but I know she won't be happy about it. But whatever it is, my mom's the most beautiful woman in the world to me.
When I first saw her on the iPod Touch, I was happy yet sad. Happy to see her....but she look really exhausted and stressed. Like all energy has been pumped out of her. Its like something squeezing my heart, tight chest.... each time I recall seeing her face yesterday.
And she still call me to find a job here? No way..she really need someone to take care of her and do house chores..etc for her.
A little bit about my mother. She is a super woman.
She works at least 5days a week and alternate Saturdays, spends at least 12hours a day out of the house (leaves for work at 7am, reaches home at 7pm). At night come back, do housework, such as washing clothes until 1-2am, wash DISHES for my dad and brother...sometimes she have to drive my aunt to go grocery shopping. Sunday morning she has to go morning market.
Isn't her life exhausting?I really wish she can just stay at home, watch all her favourite korean/taiwanese/hongkong/singapore dramas and do some exercise to keep herself healthy. I even begged her to retire !!! :( She doesn't want. She said without her, my grandfather's company cannot survive WHICH IS SO DAMN TRUE . She rather tire herself, than see my grandfather's company turn into shambles.
Sigh, when will she learn that she's not young anymore, and that she got to learn how to love herself.
My mom doesn't know how to surf the web, nor use anything hi-tech-ish.
I am not very expressive myself.
Love you, mom - words I can only express here, cause I am a shy person...can never tell her straight to her face...face to face :( Never said those to her also :(
